Ordering MTO shoes is easiest when the process follows the right order. If it starts only from a colour or image, the result may look good but be wrong for the purpose. A good order begins with where and how the shoes will be used.
1. Purpose
The first question is whether the shoe is for suits, formal events, office wear, travel or smart casual use. Purpose defines how formal the model, sole and material should be.

2. Model, last and size
Next, the model and suitable size or last are chosen. MTO does not always mean a fully individual last, so selecting the right base size and model is important. Foot width, instep height and comfort should be considered early.
3. Leather, sole and details
Once the model is chosen, the material, colour, sole, lining, laces and possible personalisation are decided. At this stage it is wise to keep the whole clear: too many special choices can make the shoe harder to combine.
4. Confirmation and delivery
Before ordering, the choices should be reviewed once more. Once the order is confirmed, changes may no longer be possible without extra cost or a longer timeline.
