Inspiration images help communicate the atmosphere a client wants. They are not a ready-made recipe. The same colour, fabric or cut can look different on each person because height, shoulder line, skin tone, purpose and setting affect the result.

Start with the situation, not the image

Before choosing a colour or detail, ask where the garment will be used. Work, weddings, formal events, travel and everyday life require different things. Purpose narrows the options and makes the choice easier.

Colours should connect to your wardrobe

A good made-to-measure garment should not remain a one-off curiosity, but work with other clothes. Navy, grey, beige, brown and muted green tones are often easier to combine than very bright colours.

A fabric sample tells more than a picture

In a photo, fabric can look flat, but in real life its surface, weight and sheen matter a lot. That is why fabric should be seen in light, felt by hand and considered in movement.

• Bring inspiration images, but also explain the purpose.
• Choose a colour that works with existing shoes and accessories.
• Look at fabric in natural light if possible.
• Keep the outfit clear if it is your first made-to-measure garment.
